WAGON TRAILER CUSTOMER COMMENTS OCTOBER 11, 2005
We
ordered the Yuppie Wagon trailer. The size of the company makes custom
requests easy; we ordered electric brakes as an option. The trailer is a
good solution for the Element's limited towing and loading capacity and
affordable. Weighing less than 600 lb with a GVWR of 1404 lb you get to
carry a pretty good payload. It's made out of "porta-potty" plastic so
it's tough and the color goes all the way through making scratches less
of a problem. The fenders are bolt on and made of another type of
plastic, while strong enough to stand on my guess is they would break
rather than give if struck too hard.
DO NOT STAND ON
FENDERS. The frame is angle and tube like
every other small trailer with a plywood floor. The door is tubing and
sheet metal with an industrial hasp as in larger applications. The door
can be ordered as a conventional side opener or ramp configuration. With
exception of the door and steel tubing supporting it there is no wood or
metal above the deck. The plastic shell provides all of the structural
strength and the weight savings.
We
went camping a week ago with the Thule roof box full and the trailer
under 3/4 capacity. The trailer tucks in under the slip stream (with or
without the box) and you don't even know its back there under most
conditions, wind buffeting was almost non-existent. The Element retains
good standing start performance but midrange power for passing is poor
however, 75 MPH on the interstate is no problem. The brakes worked
great, seeming to stop better than the ELEMENT alone when fully loaded
but I might have just been more cautious. We plan to pull it all over
the country in a traveling nurse capacity relocating every 3 months for
