| St. John Lutheran Church in Darien, Illinois held a Thanksgiving Food Drive earlier in November 2006 with yuppie wagon trailer. | ||||||||||
November
18, 2006, LCC volunteers Gary and Mike Allen (members of St.
Luke-Itasca) picked up the food collected by St. John. They then
delivered the food in Yuppie Wagon Trailer to Zion Lutheran Church in Chicago. Pastor
Kalonji was on hand to help unload the food and other goods that will be
distributed as part of a Thanksgiving Community Outreach. |

Your
church or organization runs a food drive for a one week period. LCC will
provide you with a trailer (click picture at left to see a larger
view) and a shopping list of food items. You announce it one
Sunday, have people bring the food and load the trailer during the
week. Your drive ends the following Sunday. After the food drive,
either a member of your church takes the trailer filled with food
directly (LCC will coordinate/choose an Ethnic Ministry for delivery)
or LCC will pick up the trailer and get it to the Ethnic Ministry of
your choice. |
